AMCHAM MENTORING PROGRAM : ANNUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY 2020

On Tuesday 30 June (18:00-19:30), AmCham celebrates the participants of the 2019-2020 Mentoring Program with the annual Graduation Ceremony. We would like to thank our 100+ mentors and mentees, all past and present, by warmly inviting you to our first ever online AmCham Mentoring Graduation Ceremony.

As this year has been quite a challenging one for our participants, Audra Shallal – Head of the Mentoring program has welcomed three inspiring speakers to our closing ceremony:

  • Joe Robertson, Commission Director for the Food System Economics Commission and Global Strategy Director for Citizen’s Climate Education – Joseph will open the event with an inspiring speech – “Embrace Complexity, Succeed Sustainably.” 
  • Wendy Diamond, CEO & Founder of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO)/#ChooseWOMEN – Wendy will convey with us her past and present initiatives, and share news about the recent launch of her App – BeMyMentor – during the COVID-19 turmoil.
  • Taryn Andersen, President & co-founder of Impulse4women – Taryn will close the event with a motivating few words about Impulse4Women.

Joe Robertson, Commission Director for the Food System Economics Commission, and Global Strategy Director for Citizen’s Climate Education

Joseph Robertson is Commission Director for the Food System Economics Commission (Earthintel.org/food). He has served as Global Strategy Director for the non-partisan non-profit Citizens’ Climate Education, since 2014. Through CCE, Joseph represents 200,000 citizen stakeholders from 60 countries in the UN Climate Change negotiations and other United Nations processes. He is the lead strategist supporting the Resilience Intel climate-smart finance initiative. His articles appear from time to time in the Guardian.

 

Wendy Diamond, CEO & Founder of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO)/#ChooseWOMEN 

Internationally Renowned Social Entrepreneur, Impact Investor, Humanitarian, Best Selling Author –  Wendy Diamond is CEO and Founder of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO)/#ChooseWOMEN, a non-governmental philanthropic volunteer organization with chapters in 144 countries and 112 Universities/Colleges on a global mission to empower WOMEN in business to alleviate poverty.  

She is an Investor/Advisor in social impact disruptive technologies and women led businesses including  Producers Market, RISE Wealth  Technologies, Waggit, LOOK Lateral Art, IPWE , Trust Circle, IGP Energy, Blocktower Investments, Infinigon Group, SAFE Health App, BasePaws, Farma Trust, Breathometer, and SNAKT Video APP.

Wendy sits on the Advisory Boards of Ellis Island Honors Society, Global Women in Blockchain, Social Innovation Summit, Humane Society of New York and Grey Muzzle Foundation.  Prior to WEDO, Wendy founded Animal Fair Media, Inc., the premiere pet lifestyle media platform bridging celebrity, pop culture and animal rescue, to support animal welfare when she learned 12 million animals were euthanized a year.

 

Taryn Andersen, President & co-founder of Impulse4women

Taryn Andersen will close the event with a motivating few words about Impulse4Women. Built by investment experts and entrepreneurs from various industries, they are poised to create a game-changing investment market-place for investors in the technology sector. The ambitious goal of their non-profit association’s founding members and its board is to foster investments in technology businesses that aim to leverage this economic value as gender diversity will lead to superior investment performance.

Taryn Andersen is President and co-founder of Impulse4women, who are developing a Matchmaking Platform to connect International Women Entrepreneurs with different investors, corporates, public-private organizations based of their economics needs. She is the Investor Relations Director of Telegraph Hill Venture Capital. They are investing in Cybersec, FinTech, Education Tech, Digital Tech, PropTech, Transportation, and early stages. Since February 2019th she is part of the Jury Member @EIC SME Innovation Funding Instrument at European Commission. Previously, a professional background in Private Banking for 13 years. She mentored DataQuarks, big data startup and Galigú , virtual reality startup through Startupbootcamp. Through Everis Foundation she mentored Girls in STEAM. She founded Pluribus United Foundations composed of 15 different private foundations. Taryn Andersen has a PLD graduation from IESE Business School.
