On the sidelines of the US-France Commercial dialogue at the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance, we are pleased to welcome Ian Steff, Commerce Department Assistant Secretary and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service.

Assistant Secretary Steff will discuss American investment in France and trade with Europe in a time of transatlantic tensions. He will also cover pressing digital issues such as the Privacy Shield, the Cloud Act, and the current debate around digital taxation.

Acting Assistant Secretary for Global Markets, International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce

Ian Steff was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration in June 2017. In addition to this capacity he is currently performing the non-exclusive functions and duties of the Assistant Secretary for Global Markets and Director General of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service at request of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.
