The Policy Committee gathers Public Affairs and Government Affairs representatives from AmCham Patron and President's Council member companies. This committee meets every month to discuss the French and American political agenda. This committee ensures a strong voice for the business interests of members. The aim is to define the main policy priorities for AmCham and to express and promote their common positions on major economic and political issues to national or international public officials and institutional stakeholders. The position papers published by AmCham are written in consultation with the Policy Committee. In addition, this Committee gives recommendations on the choice of working group themes and on specific events.
The Policy Committee has two sectoral groups:
- The Healthcare Group: gathers the healthcare companies who are members of AmCham and focuses on their specific policy issues.
- The Tax Committee: gathers the tax specialists from AmCham's member companies and focuses on tax issues in France and in the U.S., corporate taxes in France and in the United States, and individual taxation for US citizens in France are the main topics of interest of this Committee.
In addition, the position papers published by AmCham are written in consultation with the Policy Committee. This Committee additionally gives its input on the choice of working group themes and of guest speakers for Confidentials, policy related events, and ad-hoc events.
